From a wide range of Music Genres and Songs, I was allowed to select three songs from which I could choose one and produce a Music Video based on it. From the given of four options on the media I could choose from, after discussing with our teacher, I decided to go with the music promotion package from the four options we had which included a film production package, a documentary package and a short film package. The reason I chose this was because I wanted to do something different as compared to my AS Portfolio project which was a short film opening. The music video promotion package includes producing a music video, which will be the major task in the coursework, creating a website for the band and creating a digipak for the album’s release. I will be going through different music videos and analyse them. We’ll study how they’ve used the different codes and conventions and so we can later use them in our own videos later on. I will be engaging with contemporary media technologies and will produce a media campaign with the use of the media (video, print and website) to promote a music album.
